Happy Pi Day, folks! We've been off here in Vacationland taking a bit of a break (yes, even the nation's best YR State Federation needs to take a break from time to time). As we slowly get back into the morning coffee and daily grind, a thought:
This is a real opportunity for conservatives to engage - not diminish - the role that young Americans play in our politics. Their point, however misguided we may think it is, still has a place in our discourse because our Constitution and founding philosophy not only protects, but encourages, one to raise their voice when they feel there is a problem.
Many of us in the Young Republicans are now young professionals. We have young families. We're homeowners and job creators. We've come a tremendous way from the days when we knew more than everyone else at teenagers - we've realized that there are people who know more of everything than we do.
That's a realization that comes with age. As young conservatives, we're caught between our idealism of youth and the wisdom of age. We have a little bit of both and that's a good balance.
Be quick to engage on days like today. Not quick to judge. You might find you have something to offer more substantive at that point. ... See MoreSee Less
