The Georgia Young Republicans issued the following statement in regards to House Bill 722, as added to Senate Bill 145:

“Our Republican legislators have the unenviable task of balancing a number of interests, especially near the hectic end of each legislative session. Each decision weighs heavily upon their hearts as they consider what is best for their constituents and our fellow Georgians as a whole. HB 722, sponsored by Representative Allen Peake, is arguably one of the most meaningful and difficult of these considerations.

“We, as the Georgia Young Republicans, wish to recognize that Republicans have stances on both sides of the issue. Given the depth of discussion and debate on the topic, we hope that both chambers provide the opportunity to debate and vote on HB 722, as added to SB 145.”

It is officially Election Day! The Georgia Young Republicans would like to thank all candidates running for office. We'd also like to give a shout out to those that tirelessly "behind the scenes" on campaigns. No matter the results of today's primary, it's important that we unite behind our nominees and show the Democrats in November that there is no "blue wave." Polls open at 7AM. Get out and vote!
